Funding-Ready. Become The File Banks Compete For.

Underwriting doesn’t read your story — it reads your profile, gate by gate. “Bankable” just means every gate is green before you ask. Here is the actual checklist, the banking-relationship play, and the honest version of the “EIN-only funding” pitch.

The short answer

Funding-ready means your profile passes underwriting before you apply — score, utilization, payment history, entity, banking, and documentation all in order. Lenders compete for files like that. The 800 Club's funding team maps the route on a free strategy call.

The Gates

What Underwriting Checks — Every Time.

Whatever the product, the gates rhyme: personal score band (which shelf of products you can even reach) · utilization (how much of your existing credit is already spoken for) · the income math (DTI for personal, revenue and debt-service coverage for business) · banking history (months of clean statements — NSFs are silent killers) · time in business and paperwork (entity, EIN, licenses, addresses all agreeing with each other) · recent noise (inquiries and fresh marks). No single gate makes you fundable. Any single gate can make you not.

The Checklist

Funding-Ready, Item By Item.

□ Score band 680+ — where product shelves open and pricing turns fair. □ Utilization under 30%, reported — under 10% is where strong files live; time the statement date. □ Zero late marks in the last 12–24 months — autopay the minimums, everywhere, forever. □ Inquiries cooled — months since the last burst. □ Six months of clean banking — no NSFs, no negative days, real deposits. □ The paperwork agrees with itself — entity docs, EIN, licenses, and addresses matching across every record. □ The income math documented — returns, statements, and a debt schedule ready before anyone asks. □ The ask sized to the profile — one tier of ambition, not five.

The test: if a stranger could look at your file for ninety seconds and predict a yes — you’re ready. If they’d wince at any line, that line is the work.

Straight Talk

EIN-Only. No-PG. The Honest Version.

Business credit without a personal guarantee is real — and it’s earned, not unlocked. The genuine path: vendor and net-30 accounts that report, business cards and lines built on the business’s own track record, growing over years as revenue and payment history accumulate. What’s not real: the pitch that an EIN and a filing fee open a six-figure no-PG vault next month. Anyone selling that is selling paperwork. Early on, your personal file is the collateral — which is one more reason it’s worth fixing.

The Relationship

Banks Fund Files. Bankers Fund People They Know.

The most under-priced move in funding: open the business accounts early, run real deposits through them, keep them spotless, and talk to a banker before you need money. When your application lands with history behind it — months of clean statements at that institution, a banker who recognizes the name — you’re no longer a cold file at the mercy of the algorithm. Relationship doesn’t replace the checklist. It breaks ties in your favor.

What credit score do I need to be funding-ready?

For the cheap rows of the menu — bank lines and term loans — most underwriters want a personal score around 680 or higher, with 700+ opening the best terms. The score is one gate of several: utilization, recent inquiries, time in business, revenue, and banking history each get checked on their own.

How long does it take to become funding-ready?

It depends on which gates you are failing. Utilization and documentation can be fixed inside a month or two; record problems run on dispute cycles; time-in-business and banking history only accrue with the calendar. Run the checklist, find your failing gates, and the timeline writes itself — honestly.

Can I get business funding with an EIN only and no personal guarantee?

Eventually, for an established business with real depth — years of history, business credit scores, revenue, and a banking relationship. A new business advertised no-PG funding is almost always a vendor account with a small limit or a pitch. No-PG credit is earned by the business, not unlocked by a trick.
