TransUnion Disputes, Handled. One Bureau. One File. We Make It Prove Every Line.

TransUnion keeps its own version of your credit file and doesn’t check with the other two — fix an error here and it is fixed here only. This page is what The 800 Club does at the TransUnion desk: where the dispute goes, how we build it, the clock we hold TransUnion to, and what happens when “verified” isn’t true.

The short answer

Every line TransUnion reports has to be verifiable — that’s the FCRA, and disputing is your right, free. The 800 Club runs that dispute for you: each item built as its own case, filed with TransUnion, held to the 30/45-day clock, and escalated when “verified” isn’t. No templates. No homework.

This is the desk we work. The address and number printed on your current TransUnion report control if they ever differ from these — we check every time. Disputing directly with TransUnion is your right, free by law; what The 800 Club adds is the case-building, the filing at every bureau that shows the error, and the follow-through.

The Desk

What’s Different About TransUnion.

TransUnion runs its own Service Center for online disputes and is frequently the bureau pulled for rental screening and certain card issuers — an error sitting only on TransUnion can cost you an apartment while the other two reports look clean. Its files also show the most “mixed file” problems in our experience: another person’s account merged onto yours by a similar name or number. Those get a different case than a wrong balance does, and we build it that way.

The Case

How We Build A TransUnion Dispute.

One item, one dispute, one specific claim. “This account reports a $3,400 balance; the attached statement shows $1,150” is a case; “this is wrong” is a wish. That is how our team writes every TransUnion dispute: the exact line, the exact error, and the evidence that proves it — statements, payoff letters, court records, the identity-theft report when the account isn’t yours. At onboarding you give us what TransUnion requires before its clock will even start — a copy of your ID and proof of address — plus access to your reports. We do the rest: the packet, the postage, the tracking, the copies. When the error lives in the account detail, the same case goes to the furnisher — the bank or the collector — which carries its own duty to investigate under FCRA §623.

The Clock

The Clock We Hold TransUnion To.

From the day TransUnion receives a dispute it has 30 days to complete a reasonable reinvestigation — 45 if new evidence arrives mid-stream. It must forward the dispute to the furnisher, get an answer, and send written results plus a free updated report if anything changed. An item TransUnion cannot verify inside that window must be corrected or deleted. We log the receipt date on every item, count the days, and when the window closes without verification we treat the item as what the law says it is: unverified.

The Escalation

When TransUnion Rubber-Stamps, We Escalate.

“Verified” three weeks later with nothing behind it is a first response, not a final one. Our ladder, in order: a re-dispute built on new evidence (a repeat of the same claim can be dismissed as frivolous — new documentation resets TransUnion’s duty) · a written demand for the method of verification · a direct dispute to the furnisher under §623 · a CFPB complaint naming TransUnion, which gets a diligence the web portal never sees. And where a violation is willful, the FCRA gives you a private right of action — we tell you when a file has reached that point.

Straight Answers

Asked Constantly — Answered Once.

Do I have to dispute with TransUnion myself?

No. Disputing directly with TransUnion is your right and it is free — the law requires us to say so. If you would rather not run it, The 800 Club’s in-house team builds and files every TransUnion dispute for you, tracks the 30/45-day clock, and escalates whatever comes back “verified” without evidence.

How long does TransUnion take to respond to a dispute?

Generally 30 days from the day TransUnion receives it, extended to 45 if more information is submitted during the investigation. Results come in writing, with a free updated report if anything changed. If the window passes with no verification, the item is unverified and must come off.

Where do you send a TransUnion dispute?

TransUnion takes disputes online at its dispute portal, by mail at TransUnion Consumer Solutions, P.O. Box 2000, Chester, PA 19016-2000, and by phone at 800-916-8800. The address and number printed on your current TransUnion report control if they ever differ. Our team files at whichever door the case needs and keeps the paper trail.

If you fix an error with TransUnion, does it fix Experian and Equifax too?

No — each bureau keeps a separate file and runs a separate investigation. An error on more than one report is disputed at each bureau reporting it, and each clock is tracked on its own. They do not coordinate, so we do: all three bureaus, every cycle.
